Desde muito exercício físico, hidroterapia, alimentação equilibrada, visitas ao veterinário. Pouco a pouco o Kai habituou-se a este novo estilo de vida, adorando assim, como todos os golden retriever adoram, a vida ativa.
Após o esforço feito pelo cão e nova dona, finalmente, o Kai conseguiu emagrecer 45 kg, voltando ao peso normal de 20kg.
A Pam Heggie também argumentou que este não foi um processo doloroso ou torturante para ninguém, aliás, mas sim satisfatório principalmente para o cão, uma jornada levada gradualmente.
“Tudo começou com apenas de 5 a 10 passos por dia, 3 vezes por dia. Assim que a resistência aumentava, o tempo também aumentava. Agora fazemos caminhadas de 30 a 60 minutos por dia.”
Enfim, o Kai finalmente perdeu no total de 45 kg, passou de um cão sedentário a um cão muito ativo que agora adora viajar de carro, ir aos parques, nadar, etc. Agora é um canino de terapia certificado que visitas os hospitais.
